The Driving Tests
Both the Car and Motorcycle driving tests comprise of two parts...
- Theory
- Practical
- Theory - A test of your knowledge of the Highway code, your attitude to driving, the effects of drugs, alcohol and fatigue on driver behaviour, basic knowledge of safety and environmental aspects of your car or bike.
- Hazard Perception - You will be shown 14 video clips of real road scenarios. You will be scored on your ability to spot the developing hazard before it turns into a danger. A score of 44 out of a possible 75 is required for a pass.
- During your test you will be marked on every minor fault and you must not receive more than 15 minor errors and no serious or dangerous faults.
As a driver you must comply with the minimum requirement for the eye sight test. You must be able to read a car number plate with 79.4mm figures from a distance of 20.5 metres either with or without spectacles/contact lenses.
