The theory test is divided into two parts:

• Theory - A test of your knowledge of the Highway code, your attitude to driving, the effects of drugs, alcohol and fatigue on driver behaviour, basic knowledge of safety and environmental aspects of your car or bike.
• Hazard Perception - You will be shown 14 video clips of real road scenarios. You will be scored on your ability to spot the developing hazard before it turns into a danger. A score of 44 out of a possible 75 is required for a pass.
